Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

NAMI Connections Recovery Support Group
For adults dealing with mental illness. Meetings will be held on the third Wednesday of the month, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at the Chapel Hill Public Library, Meeting Room D. For more information, please contact Joyce Romm (304-228-1811) or Sable Justiniano (919-928-2423).  Download the flier.

Family Mental Health Support

 NAMI Family-2-Family
  • A FREE Program For Family & Friends of Those With Mental Illness​
  • Classes in Chapel Hill & Durham
 NAMI Orange Family Support Group
  • Structured, interactive group open to family members and friends of adults who have a mental illness. 
  • Two Orange County meeting locations are available: 
  • First Wednesday of each month at the Christ United Methodist Church Office Building at 105 Market Street in Southern Village;
    from noon to 1:30 pm;
  • Second Tuesday of each month from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at The Seymour Senior Center at 2551 Homestead Rd. in Chapel Hill.

Faith Community Support Groups

"You Are Not Alone"
Two spiritual support groups
  • one for those living with a mental health issue, and
  • another for the family and friends of those living with a mental health issue
When: First and third Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Where: The Curry Center at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 221 Union St., Cary, NC
Each group is facilitated by a mental health professional and  a ministry professional. Email  chris@covenantcc-cary.org or call the church office at 919-481-4715. 
Christ United Methodist Church
Mental Health Support Group at Christ United Methodist Church.  As Christians, we believe that we are called to love and support each other in community, to offer each other a place of safety and words of hope. We invite anyone who has experienced mental illness, who cares for someone who is suffering, who works in the field of mental health, or who just wants to know how to help, to join us on Sunday evenings in the church library at 5:30 p.m. Contact Doug and Katherine Kubel, 919-967-9564 or kkubel@aol.com.

Binkley Baptist Church

The Mental Health Support Group meets in the SunRoom on Tuesday nights from 7:30 - 9:00 pm.

  • ​​Harnesses the power of friendship and mentoring to combat the loneliness and isolation that people with mental illness often experience. Carefully screened and trained, volunteer is matched with an individual of the same gender, similar age and interests who provides regular companionship as well as information about resources and services.
Instagram Feature to Flag Mental Health Concerns
Now, if you feel like someone’s Instagram posts suggest they are struggling with their mental health, you can now anonymously flag your concern via the “Report” tool. Using the “Report” tool will alert Instagram if someone has been posting about self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.They will then be presented with options that can be accessed directly through the app, including a helpline (based on their location), talking to a friend, or getting suggestions for ways to support themselves.

Volunteer organization passionate about ending drug abuse around the world. Offering Drug Rehab and Addiction Treatment Guides.  Our goal is to provide resources to help patients and their loved ones so that they may stay on the road to recovery, and can successfully overcome addiction for life.
